Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) closed out 2022 on a high note by setting a new primary aluminium production record.
In 2022, Alba’s smelters produced 1,600,111 metric tons of primary aluminium. Last year’s total surpasses 2021’s total of 1,561,222 metric tons of primary aluminium by 38,889 metric tons. That total is an improvement of 2.5 percent on the year.
In a press release, Alba’s Chief Executive Officer Ali Al Baqali said that the new production high was the result of a great deal of diligent and hard work.
“This all-time production record translates our motto ‘opportunities don’t happen, we create them by doing the best we can with what we have’. We also look forward to set new highs in the future driven by our in-house production creep.
“I take the opportunity to express my gratitude to the Management team, our employees and contractors’ personnel for making our 2022 objectives a reality by challenging themselves to do more safely and responsibly.”
