Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) was awarded with the 2023 International Safety Award with Merit from the British Safety Council (BSC) last month. The award recognized Alba’s commitment to maintaining a safe work environment in 2022.
Alba’s representatives accepted the award at BSC’s International Safety Awards Gala Dinner on May 19th in London. Present for the award was Alba’s Director Safety and Health Mohamed Khalil Saeed.
Alba’s Chief Executive Officer, Ali Al Baqali, said in a press release that the award is proof positive of his firm’s commitment to safety.
“We are honored to have been recognised once again with the British Safety Council’s Merit Award as it underlines the Safety culture we have built in all our work — from our admin offices to every function and shop-floor in Alba. This award is dedicated to every employee and contractor’s personnel for their commitment to personal safety and operational safety.”
Shortly after the award, Alba welcomed a visit from BSC’s staff including Strategic Account Manager (International & UK) Nusrat Khan and Acting Head of Audit and Consultancy Phil Pinnington. The delegation joined the Alba’s Management in its Monthly Safety Review Meeting, which delved into its year-to-date performance of Safety, Health, Fire and Security as well as Environment indicators.
