Last week, Austrian metals firm AMAG Austria Metall AG won its second “Effective Sustainability Communicator Award” from ATX Prime Market due to its holistic and transparent sustainability reporting.
This is the second year in which the award has been given. Almost 40 companies trading on the Austrian ATX Prime Standard were analyzed to determine a winner, and AMAG returned top scores in its integrative understanding of sustainability and the second-highest total among all contestants.
Gerald Mayer, CEO of AMAG Austria Metall AG, said in a press release that the award shows his firm’s commitment to sustainable aluminium production.
“Receiving the ‘Effective Sustainability Communicator Award’ once again confirms our holistic understanding of sustainability. AMAG’s strategy is based on sustainability, innovation, human touch and diversity. We are therefore particularly pleased that we were able to convince the jury once again this year with our open and transparent financial reporting.”
This year, ATX Prime Standard’s focus was upon the quality of sustainability reporting. The organization paid special attention to the integrative understanding of sustainability, using ongoing reporting, investor presentations, and utilizing the Internet to communicate to investors.
Assessments for the award were conducted by the Accounting and Auditing department at the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, headed by Prof. Dr. Henning Zülch, and the Hamburg-based consulting firm Kirchhoff Consult.
